ARLEQUIN Collection – Dining Table & Cabinet by Pietro Ferruccio Laviani from EMMEMOBILI (2010)
The ARLEQUIN Collection was created by well-know designer Pietro Ferruccio Laviani for Italian manufacturer EMMEMOBILI and presented at the Milano Salone del Mobile 2010.
It comprises of the ARLEQUIN T Dining Table and the ARLEQUIN C Cabinet-Cupboard-Buffet.
The ARLEQUIN T Dining Table is made entirely out of solid multilayer wood with faceted shapes, rectangular or square top and triangle inlays which decorate the whole table. The rectangular top has the shape of a double opposing trapezium. The table is available in oak wood (natural or tinted and/or sandblasted) with crossed grain veneer triangles or oak triangles (natural or tinted and/or sandblasted) and the option for brushed natural or burnished brass.
The ARLEQUIN C Cabinets-Cupboards-Buffets have an unusual sculptured shape. They are equipped with doors decorated with triangles shaped to follow the overall geometrical design. Frames are in oak or sandblasted oak and tinted in the colors of the collection. Different variants are available based on the triangles’ finish; all are in oak with crossed grain, in oak with brass or in oak with glossy lacquered metals. Inner shelves are in clear glass. A wall-suspended version is, also, available.

EMMEMOBILI was born out of the tradition of TAGLIABUE, a company founded in Cantù (Italy) in 1879 which, from its very beginning, focused on the creation of high quality custom-made furniture.
Co-operation with leading architects and the experience gained over the years led the company to win the prize at the Triennale del Design in the 1930s.
Subsequently, in the 1950s and alongside its other work, the company developed the processing of multi-layer wooden panels, initially for the aviation industry. Later, the curved plywood technology was applied in furniture and it became a reference company.
Thus, there was a passage from craftsmanship to the industrial dimension of today which, however, has maintained the DNA of quality and excellence in the process.
The company is currently run by the 4th generation of the family, still combining international trends with innovative design, high quality and personalization of handmade items.
Since the beginning of the 1990s, the TAGLIABUE firm has passed the development and distribution of furniture to the EMMEMOBILI division, gradually making it more independent and personal.
Over the last 20 years EMMEMOBILI has created “unique” pieces destined to last in time, which have become icons of internationally recognized advanced Italian design and contemporary taste in living, Always, of course, using advanced technologies combined with old traditions.
